Abstract

Renewable energy sources are one of the urgent issues for the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The analysis of the hydropower potential of the Yesil River on the territory of the city of Petropavlovsk contributes to the assessment of the prospects for the development of small hydropower in the region.
The long-term characteristics of the Yesil River are investigated, the energy parameters of the water flow are calculated. An estimate of the theoretical maximum capacity of this reservoir is given. According to the data obtained, an analysis of possible electrical equipment was carried out.
